About Me

IMG_6560_edited.jpg

Gday! My name is Lucas. I'm 18 years old and have lived in the Yarra Valley to the east of Melbourne all my life. I went to Croydon Community School from 2017 to 2022. In that time I have kept my main passion of Railways right through those 6 years, it has matured as I have matured in that time and I am now on the path towards getting a job at the Railway I have loved since I was at least 3 years old, Puffing Billy.

I have been a volunteer at Puffing Billy for 9 years now and am the 3rd generation of Woodward's to Volunteer at the Railway. My other interests are Cricket, Basketball, Photography, Film Making, old Stationary Engines and listening to and playing Music.

I have been brought up in a Christian Family and I use the values from that in everyday life as much as possible.

Education

2010-2016

Wandin North Primary School

2017-2022

Croydon Community School

My first education was at Wandin North Primary school from 2010 to 2016, where my social skills, ideas, and knowledge improved like mad, and made me ready for High School and beyond. I can't think anywhere else I would choose to go to for my primary school years, I was one of only 7 people that went to WNPS for that time period without leaving which I am quite proud of.

My high school years have been similar to Primary school in that I have stayed at the same school for all 6 years. For a very good reason. My time at Croydon has been a time where I have transitioned to an adult in the way I always wanted to do it, that is studying Railways. The opportunities I have had thanks to the Big Picture education program has been beyond amazing, and the stuff I've gotten to do because this is stuff that most other teenagers would have no idea it could be done and it has put me on a pathway towards working on big mainline freight trains or possibly Steam Locomotives.

2020-2021

Swinburne Wantirna TAFE

Cert II in Basic engineering studies. I have already used the skills I learnt from the two years at TAFE  at Puffing Billy on the Wednesday Night Workshops sessions
